For CS’s Amusement Tonight

Just read the post HERE and peruse the comments section to understand the reference. What a F*ck Wit. Lol. On Earth Day no less! This is exactly why we need to defend Science for religious mythology.

More CS-like idiocy

And this tongue-in-cheek assessment

Best Earth Day gift EVER!! Thx ColorStorm. LOL!! And thanks to brother Peter for letting me know about the hilarious conversation going on.

  1. Don’t expect mike that your clock will not be cleaned by scripture.

The earth was made by the Creator………THEN the sun and the moon……….THEN the stars. 😉

Mock it all you want. Be my guest. The sun will lose none of its heat by your comedy, and the moon will continue to give her light.

What do you think you proved? Can you explain?

ColorStorm, posted a video that operates at the level where we usually operate. That video made the belief in a flat earth “appear” more reasonable than our belief in a spherical earth. Oddly, it used facts derived from science itself. ColorStorm’s video offers us a challenge. Examine what you believe. Make certain you understand. Test your assumptions.

Whereas the video you posted is just funny. I enjoyed it too. That presentation of picture, number, and word tricks was amazingly clever.

Do you think that video satirical of the Bible? It isn’t. It misses the point. We need examine what we believe, not to make a hash of logic. We need to make certain we understand what we believe.

The Bible contains far more than impressive wiz-bang theatrics. The bible contains authenticated history, fulfilled prophecies, vital moral doctrine that it works, the promise of a life to come, and the truth of a Creator who loves us.

Do we completely understand the Bible? No. There are parts that don’t make sense to us, that even seem somewhat contradictory. However, the parts of the Bible we do understand are the parts most people reject. We don’t want to give our lives to God. We don’t want to admit we cannot save ourselves. We don’t want to trust Him to save us from ourselves. We don’t want to make the jump into Daddy’s arms.

Perhaps the most the amazing thing about the Bible is that it is a mirror; it enables us to see ourselves as are. That is not an image we desire to see. It is ugly, but the Bible also shows us what we could be. That’s the hope that keeps people reading it.

      • Jz, This is the comment I rescued from the accidental bin. And my answer:
I wouldn’t call cs the disease. He’s just a symptom. The real disease is the type of irrational thinking that produces such blathering bullshit as ‘the earth is flat because…’ when we have actual observational evidence that shows it is clearly NOT flat, and it DOES in fact spin and is not stationary in space with everything rotating around it.
The thinking is the disease, the earwig, the Wrath of Khan space bug that controls your life, loves, thinking and behaviour once it’s inserted into your brain and fully accepted.
Cs doesn’t even care, he’s said so to me, about outside verification or validation of the Bible. He literally doe not care if it’s true to reality and science or not. As I said, He is the perfect example to post on Earth Day and the very epitome of the kind of shit we need to defend Science against in the public and governmental arenas.

          • Jz, you do have to admire cs a little though. For not being willing to adjust his interpretation of what the Bible says by just what Science says. He’s willing to look like a total fuck wit idiot in order to defend what the Bible actually does say.
He’s an idiot and you’re right, should have no position of authority, influence or education over young impressionable minds. That type of thinking is a retardant and a disease

            • I do give him credit in that regard. I gave Amanda credit, too, for saying she supported slavery and the killing of gays because it was in the bible and there was no dodging it. I doubt Colourstoprm has that kind of courage, though.

              • James had a post on the Resurrection that I commented on that I had seen a video comparing the evidence for actual witchcraft in Salem to the evidence for an actual resurrection of jesus. He held my comment in moderation, but just now released it… after adding a hit that I didn’t say to make it look like I was being a Dick. So fucking dishonest

              • Yes, dishonesty and cowardice and intellectual bankruptcy are the necessary currencies for evangelical piety. We see the same stock in trade no matter who the particular author might be because the subject itself in order to survive has to be poisonous to good, honest, and fair reasoning.

              • This time I was able to catch him in the act, dishonest fuck James is. If you need to use trickery, arrogance, bullying, censorship and out right changing of someone else’s words to defend your God, how on earth do you think you are doing Him a service? Un fucking real

  2. Mike we can laugh at the video but I do despair at the object ignorance displayed by CS. Worse still he exults in his stupidity.

Any person who argues for a flat earth cannot be taken seriously. What CS needs to realise is that his support of such utter rubbish discredits other positions that he might support.

I am afraid now that I see no point in further discussion with CS on any topic as he has shown himself to be a complete and utter fool.

  3. The full quote from Augustine, writing around 400 AD:

‘“Usually, even a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other elements of this world, about the motion and orbit of the stars and even their size and relative positions, about the predictable eclipses of the sun and moon, the cycles of the years and the seasons, about the kinds of animals, shrubs, stones, and so forth, and this knowledge he holds to as being certain from reason and experience.

“Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking nonsense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn. The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men. If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods and on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of Holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books. For then, to defend their utterly foolish and obviously untrue statements, they will try to call upon Holy Scripture for proof and even recite from memory many passages which they think support their position, although “they understand neither what they say nor the things about which they make assertion [1 Timothy 1.7].” (The Literal Meaning of Genesis, Book 1 Chapter 19 Paragraph 39)

  4. We can very simply prove the earth is round be noting that it is daylight where I am at present (mid afternoon on Sunday) and no doubt night where you are Mike. I would challenge our flat earther to explain how that can happen with a flat earth.

I know God has his hand over your part of the earth (hiding the Sun) but not mine!

  5. The phrase that came to my mind, when reading through the comments on the original thread, is “mindnumbingly stupid”. . . willfully ignorant just doesn’t cut it. 😦

      • I don’t think I read as many comments of his as you do, KIA, but he’s not the only one. It’s as if the fundies’ last gasp of what they see as their moral superiority is one of shrieking, delusional nonsense. They must realize they are losing all credibility and, as more people become enlightened to reality, their bitter commentary becomes more and more unbelievable – and unacceptable. They were tolerated (as the ‘fringe nutters’ they are and always have been) for a long time but now people are actually challenging their viewpoints and exposing them. They don’t like it one little bit. Thus, their desperate responses that sounds exactly like what it is – nonsensical gibberish.

  6. The tide comes in, the tide goes out… You can’t explain that… without needing Oogity Boogity to be your ‘answer’ like CS.

I’m calling a poe here on ‘Deep Inside The Rabbit Hole’. And – oh lookie – these are some of the other companion vids: The 9/11 hoax. Vaccines, Crop formations, Extraterrestrials, Chemtrails, Mind control, Ancient technology and a crap ton of other subjects the Lame Stream Media won’t tell you.” Yup, ye shall know them by their fruits… and by their fruit you will recognize them. No one is fruitier than CS and his produce is Ignorance in the name of piety.

    And he ‘teaches’ children!

      • Last I heard he was ‘an award winning’ bus driver. Nothing like a captive audience! But he also says he has taught/does teach children bible classes. So being religious seems to be the necessary ‘expertise’ to teach anyone about anything better and more informed than something as trivial and mundane as appropriate ‘knowledge’. Perish the thought.

    • Limey, I’m not so sure at all. I’ve met plenty of Christians in my former circles just as intransigent in their beliefs and unwilling to hear or consider other evidence. What would cs have to gain from such a long term and obviously detailed and extravagant ruse?

      • You ask a very valid question and I have no answer that I would call satisfactory. I posit the following options:

        1) CS really enjoys being the POE and nothing else in life brings pleasure to match. not even an a XBOX.
        2) CS is a true believer but throws out these occasional POE posts to intentionally bait the atheist and bring traffic, all traffic is good traffic remember. To be a successful blogger one much have traffic and reasoned and sensible posts do not lots of traffic bring.
        3) CS really has drunk the cool aid down to the dregs at the bottom of the glass. Those who go that far tend to have a level of inconsistency that reveals how unhinged they are. I’ve seen a few of these come and go over the years and CS seems different.
        4) there is more than one person posting as CS

I’m actually more inclined towards 2 and I hate myself to putting the effort into thinking about this 😀
