Blogging Buddy bye bye?

Sad but Hopeful

I read a recent blog post from a blogging buddy of mine, well “buddy” is an extremely kind way to describe James. But in his post recently where he partially reviews The  movie The Shack based on the book of the same name by Universalist and “Christian Heretic” William Paul Young, he also mentioned that he’s been thinking of late about putting his Blogging on hold for awhile to plug back into real life. He wants to spend more time doing Real Ministry, serving Real People and making a Real Impact for Christ in his local community. I say good on him.

But what I saw in the comments was disturbing to say the least. He called me Retarded and a Moron while he thought I wasn’t looking. Not as disturbed by Him calling me names and once again displaying his utter contempt and hatred for me as much as his complete lack of grace and compassion, Empathy and understanding of the Mentally Ill and challenged people of the world. Not cool brother James. Not cool. Here’s the exchange.

Atheists like Ark, Zande, and their retarded friend The Recovering Know It All? I haven’t interacted with them or anyone like them in months so nothing will be lost there. And for what they do or think, meh, I don’t care about anything less than that.

Besides, blog or no blog, my real life ministry work is going as well as it ever has so I am still working tirelessly for The Kingdom.

Probably putting the blog on ice is what will happen in all actuality, I may get back into it someday, anything is possible.

Numbers aren’t really the issue either as the blog does better than I ever imagined it would.

More than anything, I enjoy life off-line much more than on lately.

Thanks for all the interaction and support CS, it means a lot knowing I have friends out there in cyberspace.

Retarded? Moron? Dude… chill with the insensitivity and hate

I don’t Hate anyone. James and the other members of the Amateur Internet Apologetics Gang are not my Enemies. It’s clear that’s what they think. It’s also Crystal Clear by his words and Color Storms words and name calling that even though I don’t see them as enemies… they clearly see me as their Enemy. Sad when hate takes over your life, yeah? But James and CS are just following David’s example:

“Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.  For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Do not I hate them, O Lord , that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?  I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.” –Psalms 139:19‭-‬22 KJV

Yes, the “Man after God’s own Heart” both gave them their example and shows us what that God is really like. If David’s heart is like God’s… the Biblical God is a God of Hatred for people that don’t believe and obey Him.

Once again, if James plans to step back from blogging, which i hope he does for many reasons I will explain… Good on him. But I do hope he also uses the time to adjust his attitude, behaviour and language BEFORE he tries to exchange with others like this in Real Time and in the Real world. They might not be so… how shall I put this… SAFE to talk to and behave in this manner. Just saying.

History lesson

I no longer comment over there because I could no longer trust James to not edit, delete my comments that I had made on his posts, mischarachterize the substance and content of my comments after deleting them in order to make others believe I had said something I did not say, and even CREATE comments whole cloth when he wanted to make it seem like I had left comments laced with profanity and personal attacks. Nope. Can’t trust him, so I stopped commenting over there.

But I do hope he takes a step back for awhile from blogging and Keyboard Riding. I think it will do him, his family, Christianity on the Internet, WordPress in general… and his community a lot of good. One thing I’d like to leave with him though, and I KNOW you read here James…

Words James should re-read on his Sabbatical

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.  Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:  Neither give place to the devil.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

-The Apostle Paul, Letter to the Ephesians, chapter 4 vs 25 thru 32

Will you listen to and obey the Word?

Good words to live by and treat others with, even if one is not a chriatian… anymore. Words and sentiment that your exchange with Color Storm utterly lacked. James, you seem to be quite a failure at allowing your Faith to be lived out in your Real Life, at least your WordPress Real Life. I hope you get some rest and gain the perspective you obviously need. For your own Mental Health and Stability.

Mine’s just fine, thank you very much.

  1. I am sure it requires much energy to maintain a blog. This applies to people of all points of views. I know that I am commenting less on blogs nowadays as I feel I have been worn out by finding how much embedded views are impervious to argument.

I sense in James’ case he is having trouble maintaining his righteous indignation.

I would hope that Christians and atheists could form some sort of truce and realise they should be able to live together in peace and that they both face a common enemy, a faith that seems to wants to eliminate both of them. And shows fare less tolerance to dissenting views.

So James if you are ease dropping, I wish you well for the future, even though you frustrated me at times, but no doubt I frustrated you also, and both of us accused the other of failing to be open to reason.

  2. I like the way in his pantomime world he hasn’t any contact with the horrid likes of little old me… Ignoring the fact that he’s banned me, and everyone else.

Cowards can be funny when they try to rationalise things.

  3. This blogger sounds so malicious and angry. For religious people, you’d think that they’d show some respect and decorum – or, at the very least, some respect for the truth. But it sounds like he literally puts words in your mouth by editing or creating your comments :/ Ridiculous behaviour.

And to call you a retard for your mental health issues also? What the fuck is wrong with him?

  4. The Us vs Them, Good vs Evil, Our Side Must Win The War mentality is a pernicious one. Given the prominence Calvinism has risen to in the last few decades, it creates a very clear line in the sand: anyone who is Christian is elect for salvation – anyone who disavows Christ/God is condemned to eternal destruction and unending torture; only those who are active seekers of God or are uncertain are worth trying to convert for salvation – the rest are enemies to be treated with little regard. Looking at the context of the exchange, it begins with an assumption that were James’ blog to vanish, all the atheists out there would think that they’d won a victory for godlessness. I think there’s a misunderstanding of what the goal out there is to do sometimes: to question the bad theology that Christians post without thinking. By going silent, it’s not a win, just the loss of a debate partner. To be sure, there will be others, some new rising star will take his place and join their ranks and over time the old names are forgotten – those who came before and did the song and dance until they had nothing left. It is, an army after all, and whenever one falls, there’s always another waiting to lift up the banner and wield the sword and to do battle.

  5. There was a fellow by the name of David MacDonough (I think that’s how it’s spelled) who has stopped blogging because of pushback from certain people – people who didn’t think the same way as he did. I wonder if James is in the same position? If so, one can only conclude that those certain people influenced at least one more ‘believer’ to shut down their attempts to spread the ‘good news’.
This – as Martha Stewart would say – is a good thing. 🙂

    • I remember David. Applied Faith. He was also the same type of blogger/apologist. He also used to block and delete when he couldn’t deal with the content of comments. Although he never added to or created comments for people, words they didn’t say. James is the only one I’ve seenndo that so far. I caught him doing it to me once before when i had a different christian blog… pre-deconversion.

      • I must admit I was surprised at your special focus on David. I did not see him as egregious like some other wanne be apologists.

But I was not aware of him editting comments, indeed as a former Christian I am genuinely perplexed to see Christians act in deceitful ways given the Christian focus on truth being good and lies being evil.

        • Peter, with regards to many Amateur Internet Apologists on the blogs these days, I will paraphrase and suggest a corollary to a saying that my mom used to have,
“If you can’t dazzle them with details, baffle them with BS…” I would add for James, David and the like… “and if you can’t do either… just block them and delete their comments. Refuse them voice or personhood on your space”

          • Yes I know what you mean. The following is a comment I made on James’ site in mid 2015, the first time I detected his practice of deleting comments.

James you disappoint me so much. You don’t really seem interested in truthful discussion!

Last night I looked at this post and there was a comment from another person that addressed each of the four objections you raised. Now I see it has been deleted.

If it was incorrect – point out the errors.

If it shows your post was wrong – admit you were wrong.

I get so disappointed when I see this sort of thing happen. It screams out to me, ‘I don’t want to know the truth if it challenges my beliefs’.

I don’t think I can trust your site any more.

The post in question was to do with evolution, as I recall. A learned person (more learned than me) had posted a point by point scientific destruction of James’ pseudoscience. I was fascinated by the response and went back to the post later to see James’ response, but was saddened to see the learned comment had disappeared.

            • That is the trend on so-called apologetics sites. They only want discussion if They can win or it can further the mission of sharing Christ and getting people saved.
Otherwise it is a distraction at best and a misappropriation of their blog space. Evidence and Truth be damned.
